WordCamp San Francisco 2008

It’s that time again!! WordCamp SF 2008 is coming at you on August 16th! I am very excited since this will be my very first WordCamp ever! I’m honored to be part of the WordPress team helping out on the sidelines when needed. I also get to finally meet some fellow Automatticians who are coming into town for WordCamp as well as An Event Apart. Be sure to sign up here and don’t forget to have your Gravatar set up, so you can get your nifty photo badge!

On a side note, I’m putting together a WordPress Charity Scavenger Hunt the day after WordCamp on Aug 17th. The recipient of the proceeds will be local SF non-profit, 826 Valencia. They are dedicated to helping students develop their writing skills and promote literacy. They also have a really sweet pirate store and workshop space. If you’re interested in joining in the fun, sponsoring a team or donating please check out the event registration page.

BlogHer 2008

blogher2008logoSo, I’ll be speaking at BlogHer this year in San Francisco. I’ll be joining Angie Byron of Drupal to discuss ways that you can participate and contribute to open source projects like WordPress and Drupal.

What are some topics you’d like to hear about in the panel?

April 3, 2008 is “Good People Day”

Just a few days ago Gary Vaynerchuk reached out and sent the community a mission. A mission of GOOD! This day is sort of a “pay it forward” idea, where we all embrace the goodness that surrounds us and the people perpetrating that awesomeness.  Following the twitters that were being sent out throughout the day gave me(as well as others, I’m sure) that warm & fuzzy feeling. It was nice to hear all the great things the community was saying about each other and the love being felt through the intertubes.  I didn’t twitter anything or anyone in particular, except to graciously give virtual hugs and love to my friends who mentioned me as part of their #GPD08 tweets.

I wanted to take the time to gather my thoughts to talk about the truly good people who have impacted my life and basically helped me(whether they know it or not) get to where I am today.

You know you want to keep reading…
